FREE, The Emotional Code Book, Audio, and Charts

FREE Starter Program The Emotions Code" book, audio, and charts.

When we treat others with Reiki we do not judge, analyze, or diagnose others. We create a vibration of peace and unconditional love within us to radiate an atmosphere of healing. It is our practice of Reiki Self-Treatment that teaches us this patience, unconditional love and peace.
This peace we aspire towards in our practice resonates like the room full of guitars that when you pluck the C string all the other C strings on the guitars begin to vibrate. We can influence restoration and balance in this way for those who are open to it.  Watch Videos at the end of this post on Reiki Self Treatment.

The Emotion Code is a modality separate from Reiki. It seeks out the emotions set in the subconscious from trauma, divorces, even in the womb. It works through muscle testing, and a magnet.which traces the governor channel to dissolve the emotion or block. I think this would be a valuable modality to add to my Reiki practice. And you may want to consider adding this to yours or just learning it to use on its own.

I just downloaded my FREE book, audio, and chart ! The book is sent to be read on your computer or other E Reader. FYI I am not affiliated with this offer or the Emotion Code. I am an interested Reiki practitioner and spiritual teacher who wants to learn this unique modality.

Upgrade your Reiki

Relax, take time, and linger with a light touch.
Even though this may not seem like enough,
many transformations are taking place inside.

When the hands set lightly on a fellow
and we allow the responding cells to simmer and shine
the body can sing its lovely song again
Take the time... take the time. DeborahMoonMoen RMT

During a course in Craniosacral Therapy I discovered how to create a space for healing, a state of being, and that there was "stuff" going on even though I was still. Not about a goal line to reach, not about pumping energy, rather about being, connecting to my heart, being still. DeborahMoonMoen RMI

I took a course in Craniosacral Therapy and learned so much how taking the time to create a safe calm environment and not rushing from one position to another is so effective. This upgraded my understanding of healing and my practice of Reiki.

From the article: "Craniosacral Therapy is therefore a process. Yes, if a person is ready and their body is ready, significant change can happen in a single session, even in the first session. They may get instantaneous relief from pain that they have been carrying for a number of years. But that is not the aim. The aim is to allow our client to experience whatever intervention or support their body priorities at the start of the session because that is what will benefit them the most."

This is a very good article and can help you understand more about how transformations in Reiki or any modality occur. Is Craniosacral therapy (CST) For Me? This link will lead you to the article

Got The Power of Spiritual Healing?

Power of Spiritual Healing

"You already have the power of spiritual healing. You want to know how to use it. You use it whether or not you know that you do. When you think thoughts of peace and vitality, and when you wish a man well, then you help heal him."

~ Seth Speaks Session 483 Page 301

This is a truth. No manner of initiation or attunement will magically give you the power to heal.  You already have that power within you.
"When you think thoughts of peace and vitality, and when you wish a man well, then you help him heal."

And ...You my friend can use these kinds of thoughts for yourself.

What True Healers Know

What True healers know.
www.reikibasics.blogspot.com

My friend gave me this quote today.
"True healers know that wellness is the order of the day, so they do not allow themselves, even for a moment, to see anything other than that. So, the power of the healer is in the power to influence the one who needs to be healed into a vibration that allows the healing that they are
summoning. (that they could get, even without the healer, but they can get faster with a healer’s influence)

Peace + Reiki = Success

        www.freeimages.com

Reiki is a practice which helps us learn, stillness and calm in the midst of any situation. Healing is greatly influenced through peace. Reiki practices and principles guide us towards a peaceful state of mind.

Reiki is more our in our mind and heart  than in our hands. The energy we may feel in our hands confirms our own life energy. The hand positions can signal activity in the cells even when not touching or hovering over the body. But it is not your energy going into them. The cells are responding to your presence and you willingness to assist.

Relaxation is key in order to allow a balance to emerge. The effects of this relaxation response is accumulative. We can all tap into this peace to positively influence ourselves, others and the world.
Our Reiki practice is not about doing, trying, forcing, or pushing this energy into anyone. We do force an outcome. When we relax and open our heart, peace is an energy that radiates from us naturally without doing anything. It is always available to everyone.  Reiki is a wonderful practice which teaches us how to tap into this peaceful healing state.

Reiki For Wulfie Our Llama

It is the summer solstice and time to shear the llamas so they could be cool. Each llama has his own personality and different ways of dealing with the annual practice of being shorn.

  • Starbuck was a breeze.
  • Lakota was a right hind leg kicker.
  • Wulfie was an elevator (up & down)
It was Wulfie I sheared today. I would touched him and he would kush ( knelt or lied down). I touched him again and he stood up.

After 30 ups and downs with sharp scissors in my hand, I let go and placed the scissors down. I remembered to share Reiki with Wulfie. Reiki is a method of assisting someone to relax so their body can be restored to balance. Reiki is state of mind, a peaceful calm and feeling of love from the heart.

When we come from our hearts a peaceful feeling emerges and affects others and ourselves in a positive way. It is ultimately up to the animal or person if they desire to fight against the world or relax into peace.

I did my part and relaxed my mind and body. I prepared in a way my teacher had taught me and I thought of someone I loved dearly, my mother. This brought my whole being into a state of love.

I would like to report that Wulfie calmed down immediately. He kushed down on the ground and allowed me to shear him. He happily munched on his hay while I trimmed his fiber with my sharp dressmaking shears and he even stood up and allowed me to trim his long belly hairs.

I felt a blending of our hearts and I understood more about Wulfie than I ever did. I felt a communion and kinship. A great feeling to be patient and kind and help someone ease through their fears.

Reiki calmed Wulfie for his shearing. www.Reikibasics.blogspot.com

The wheel barrel was filled with Wulfie's tired old locks and I put it aside to take him for a walk and then a grazing in the alfalfa field.

The bulk of the llamas fleece is off and the next thing is to groom them and get those boys in a parade and walking with people again. I am almost there. One step at a time.

Reiki Is A Practice

Reiki is a practice.
www.reikibasics.blogspot.com
Reiki is a spiritual practice which uses light non-invasive touch during self treatments, treatment for others and uses 5 principles for daily living. As a practitioner uses light touch on one's self or on others it guides us to go within which connects the mind and body. Reiki is very relaxing. The practice of Reiki can give us a feeling of peace and harmony which fosters wellness and well-being. This well-being radiates outward and touches our lives and all our relationships.

Reiki is a spiritual practice that brings our potential energy into our awareness. As we practice Reiki we may begin to feel warmth in our hands, movements and sensations stirring within us, we may feel cold or cool or hot. We may even feel pain subside or shift to another location.  We feel these sensations because we are relaxed and more aware of what may have been there all along. We may have been too tense or busy to listen to what our body has been telling us.

Giving and receiving light non-invasive touch to ease discomfort or disease has been practiced long before Mikao Usui created the practice of Reiki.  Reiki is a valuable effective method/practice that can be handed down from one person to another.

It is through practice and repetition we grow. In time we begin to see results, see a new perspective, reduce stress, chill out, balance our health, and begin to experience good things happening in our life. We even discover new depths of energy within us.

The energy that is spoken of in Reiki has always been in you. The practice of Reiki will make you more aware of your own energy and how you connect and respond to the environment around you.

Your practice of Reiki will help you respond in ways that benefits your well-being.

Usui Reiki is a beneficial practice which anyone can learn.

Reiki Symbols: Do They Work ?

I am often asked this question. Drumroll please...

Yes! Reiki symbols do work. Here is how symbols work.

A symbol is a tool to help you get in the mood. A symbol has no power on its own. The meaning of a symbol is what you give it.

Symbols help you focus on the meaning.

Symbols help us get in the mood. It is that mood that carries a powerful high vibration. It is a vibration that is practiced by the sages and shaman and kahuna over the ages. Alignment with this higher vibration is what Reiki practitioners aspire towards. It takes practice to develop this discipline and awareness. There is a secret message within the meanings of the Reiki symbols. More will be revealed as you practice.

All the principles of the universe apply everywhere even in Reiki. You may read that Reiki symbols have power and this is changing because we know different now. A symbol and a human mind is powerful.

A stop sign is a symbol and when we see it we get ready to stop. A dollar sign $$$ is a symbol and when we see it we attach a meaning and a feeling to it. Same with all your symbols in Reiki. Reiki symbols are a reminder and a focus tool.

The vibration of the asking or intention of the symbol is the power. When you use a symbol in Reiki you are asking the universe to assist you. We are learning that this asking is always heard. No one need try too hard to summons help from the universe. All you got to do is get out of the way. Let go of doubt and relax.

Symbols are a discipline in the practice and art of Reiki no more strange than our wedding rings or signs on the road or trademarks on products. Learn to draw them, learn their alias, and this discipline will engrain the meanings into you. Use them in your daily Reiki self treatments and in treating others.

Here is how I learned my symbols. http://reikibasics.blogspot.com/2012/04/how-i-learned-symbols.html

A Technique For Animals

A very good technique ( non traditional Reiki) for all creatures great a small.

I learned the following technique from Lisa McKenzie, Animal Communicator and Energy Healer. You may use this on any creature great or small, wild, or domesticated, frog, dog, cat, bird, lizard, penguin, tiger, whales, or any other creature you would like to assist in healing or comforting.

Reiki has hand positions which bring awareness to different parts of the body. This is very similar to Reiki. The hands do not touch the body in this technique and any level of Reiki or non-Reiki can use this technique long distance.

Do not get hung up on details because you can not get this wrong. Improvise where you do not see a tail and if it was cropped just go to where you think it would end. The treatment above the head and down the spine are so comforting to the animals you will see them relax. Also use your imagination and ground them ( imagine roots like a tree growing into the earth's crust deep down) through the legs or fins whatever the case may be. One benefit is, like Reiki, that this treatment is good for you too as you perform it.

Animals have an energy system too.

Traditional Chinese Medicine, Indian philosophy and even western practitioners all agree on a human energy system. These systems also are within animals and in the earth. This energy system effects balance, well-being and health. Below is a link to a very good article on these energy systems

Hand Position
The position for your hands during the in person treatment is like a church steeple. The hands are clasped together and the index fingers make a steeple like in the picture above.  Your index finger tips will draw lines above the animal beginning  at the nose tip  to points on the forehead, between the shoulder blades, between the hips bones, and to the tip of the natural tail or end of the spine or body. The hands separate at the shoulder blades and hip bones and continue down the legs stopping at the center points of the paws front and back sending deep roots into the earth for grounding. Grounding is also done at the tail. You can also do this with one hand using the index and middle finger.

Animals will respond differently depending on their personality and condition. This you can also perform long distance by imagining a particular animal in your palm or from across the room or standing over the animals. The fingers do not touch the animal. There is a space of about 6" to a foot or more above the meridians.  Move slowly and concentrate on the fingertips. You may feel a sensation of tingling, warm or hot or cold or nothing at gall. Everyone will get a different response. It is all good. Treat an amputated leg or docked tail as it was naturally. The physical part that is gone is still energetically there.

 Let's begin.

Here is a step by step guide to follow:

1. For remote or long distance:

Imagine the animal or have the animal with you. If you are away from the animal, touch your forehead with the tips of fingers on one hand and breathe to bring your awareness inside.
On one hand imagine the animal in your palm and work on it there with the two fingers ( index and middle) on the other hand.

 For in person treatment:

Make your steeple with your fingers ( see above photo). Use it like a magnetic wand.

Begin at the nose tip and run your fingers slowly along the center of the animals eys to the crown (top of head). Hold that position for 1 full breath. Release hands. Continue at each position ( numbered in drawing) as follows. You will always return to the nose.

2. Again begin at the nose tip and draw your magnetic wand up the nose between the eyes through the center of the crown and along the spine to between the shoulder blades  (see illustration 2). Hold for 1 full breath. Separate your hands keeping your index fingers out and draw your magnetic wands down the front legs and hold at the center top of the front paws, pads, hoofs, feet or fins. Note: for remote just separate your two fingers index and middle fingers .

3.While you hold that position, imagine roots growing down, from the pads on the front paws, feet or fins, deep into the earth. ( see illustration 3) Takes 1 full breath and on the exhale and send ( imagine) the roots down into the earth for grounding. Then release hands.
Note: Have you ever seen the roots of an old oak tree? It's roots run very deep.

4. Place your hands together into position again and beginning at tip of nose draw your magnetic fingertips up between the eyes, through the top of the head, down between the shoulder blades, down along the spine to between the hip bones or lower spine and hold there. Take 1 full breath. Remember to relax your shoulders and body.

5. Separate fingers and draw a magnetic line down the back legs to to center of the back paws, pads, hoofs, feet or fins. (see illustration 5) Takes 1 full breath and on the exhale and send the roots down into the earth for grounding. Just use your imagination. Then release hands.

6. Begin again at the nose tip with your hands in the steeple position and draw a magnetic line up between the eyes, crown, shoulder blades, along the spine, between the hips or lower spine, and to the tip of the natural tail or end of the spine. Draw a line down to the earth from that place and send your roots. Remember to take your time breath and use an image.

Some may feel tingling warmth or magnetic pull as you do this treatment. It is not necessary to feel the energy. Remember to practice and be assured your confidence and ability to relax and enjoy the process will unfold over time.

It may seem strange but wait till you see the results. Do not look for the results just experience them when they occur. Any improvement big or small is a sign to appreciate how we are all connected. Do not try just relax and be in the now with peace of mind that this or something better will manifest.

Results

I will use our Australian Shepherd, Windy, as an example. Windy is terrified of fireworks and thunder. A flash of lightening will send her right up the nightstand in an attempt to escape the clap of thunder that follows. She drools and pants in a panicked state. We adopted Windy from a rescue at the age of 2 and whatever conditioned her to fear those loud booms, we do not know. However, in using this technique, she experienced a relaxation response which was accumulative, meaning that even after the treatment the benefits of it continued to help her. I have done this technique 3 times on Windy. Twice during consecutive thunderstorms and once during an episode of soreness after a long walk. She loves it! When my fingers trace her meridians (energy pathways) and I come to her little hips she wiggles and snorts like it tickles. As a result Windy is able to function quite well during a thunder storm, firecrackers, and gun shots on our hikes.  She now goes on her own to the bathroom which is away from the lightening flashes and sleeps soundly.

Quick & Easy Pain & Anxiety Relief

You can adapt any holistic mind body healing technique to your Reiki practice. Reiki's hand positions are universal and most are inherent. We naturally place our hands on our forehead when we have anxiety or stress and we may naturally place our hands on the back of our head as well.

Apply the method in this video as a self care treatment.

Connect to your Reiki practice consciously with any of these methods.
  • You may simply be aware of Reiki,
  •  draw your Reiki symbols,
  • recite the Reiki principles.

  1. Connect with your intention in your mind. This is what you want to accomplish.
  2. Watch the video
  3. place hands on the areas shown in the video
  4. relax and allow your Reiki state and the hand positions to ease any pain and stress.

In addition to this you may rate your emotions or pain on a scale of 1-10 ( 10 being severe) before you begin. Then rate again after your Reiki self treatment. By doing this you can help your brain to discover any improvements. Many times our mind perpetuates pain or worsens it with our beliefs, worry and stress. Rating to see your progress can retrain your brain to release it. It is helpful for you to be aware you can heal your own body and mind.

This practice can assist you in shifting into the present moment. It is in the present moment that healing occurs. In the present moment we are love. This is the state in which we treat ourselves and others with Reiki. Self Treatment daily will improve our ability to calm and slip into the present moment.

Reiki for My Llama, Lakota

Did you ever wonder how Reiki can help your pets or loved ones?

With daily practice we learn how to relax and become mindful. Through entrainment we affect our environment in a positive way and assist or facilitate balance through peace of mind and body. This is basically what the practice of Reiki is.

Here is an example of how I applied my Reiki  to help my llama and I accomplish a peaceful and successful outcome during hand shearing.

I had the right frame of mind from the start by wearing my Flow Like a River T-Shirt that I made to remind me of the benefit of calm.

Flow Like a River www.reikibasics.blogspot.com

Lakota was full of extra long fiber, about 8 ". It was time to shear him. We haltered him,
and lead him to the chute for shearing.  I safely tied Lakota to the fence with a release knot and pulled the chute along his side to hold him in place. I began to brush him and he was quite nervous and jerked his body to avoid my approach. He was rearing and making sounds of impatience. He was also giving me "the eye". I could not risk using sharp shears on a moving target. I asked my husband to go get my camera to record the results.

I began to practice my Reiki principles to calm myself. I repeated these silently until I felt peace.

 Just for today:
  •  I will not anger
  • I will not worry
  • I will do my work with appreciation
  • I will honor my teachers
  • I will be kind to every human and every living thing.
Giving thought to these principles reminds me that just for one day I can let go of fear and worry. I then immediately feel a pleasant drop down into my heart which is very calming.  It is a wonderful feeling of connection. Then something very special happens. The animals usually responds with a relaxed comfort as well. This is Reiki. This teaches us how, through entrainment, we can positively effect how we can transform our environment.

Succes !

Lakota is standing still and at ease after a short while and I begin to shear with my scissors. The mood of Reiki practice radiates peacefully from me and Lakota and out into the world. This feeling is accumulative and increases in benefits over time. This is very much like being with someone who is relaxed and a pleasure to be around. You just feel good in their presence. This is a very healing atmosphere.

Lakota and I are calm and Reiki relaxed.

Before shearing, Lakota's eyes were as big as saucers straining to look behind him to see what I was doing. He was very irritated. But now he has relaxed so much he looked like he was going to doze off Zzz.

Reiki offers guidelines for self treatment and guidelines for helping others.  you can treat yourself or others with a level 1 class. The most mysterious aspect of Reiki for me is the fact that we do not heal others. Each individuals body and mind has the intelligence to heal.  Reiki teaches how we let go and have faith in the process. We learn to let go and accept the situation as it is. We see the perfection of the body and mind's ability to balance itself once it relaxes and transforms the tension. We, through our practice, have learned to relax. That relaxed state is felt by our environment.

To assist with animals, I stand or sit near or away from the animal which ever is best for the situation. Remote sessions are also possible because in Reiki Level 2 we learn there is no time and space. We say we send Reiki but this is not really true. We do give the gift of this practice through practicing it ourselves. With the situation in mind, we become peaceful, clear, and free of worry or stress. We then let go and become an open channel for healing which connects us to our higher self. This peace transfers spontaneously anywhere we intend it whether we are there in person or in another country, city, or state.

How To See The Reiki In the Trees

Art by Deborah Moen RMT  ReikiBasics.blogspot.com

This is a painting I created yesterday for students who have not yet connected to Nature as a source of Reiki practice. I have an activity in my Reiki classes where I ask the students to experience the energy emanating from the tops of the trees. Many students delight in seeing this for the first time. It is easy, just soften or relax your eyes and include your peripheral vision.  Let it come into view. There is no trying. Trying will tense up your eyes muscles. Just take the time and look with Reiki eyes. It looks different to everyone but for me it is a smokey vibrating spiked energy that shoots off of the tips of the leaves like a silver crown. Some can say it looks like a swarm of gnats. Early morning  and late afternoon is the best time for me to see it. I look west or east away from the setting or rising sun over the tops of trees.

We may be working inside all day stuck in a cubicle or just too busy to take time to get to know Nature. Nature is such a great teacher. This activity brings our awareness of life and energy even closer. We can feel connected to nature and communicate or meditate within it daily.

A Chinese Monk Once Said

A Chinese monk once said:

" When your mind is transparent and pure, as if reflected on the mirror-like surface of the water, there will be nothing in this world you would dislike.
When it is serene as the light breeze in the sunshine there would be no one you would like to forget."

I took this picture last Sunday. We were deep in the forest and came upon this magical lake so fitting for the image of this quote ♥
